About us
Eve (along with Sam & Monty the dogs and Bryan the cat!) welcome you to the Dog & Bone, a long established traditional public house, offering real ale and locally sourced, home cooked food.
In early 2006 the pub was due to be closed and developed into flats, however with the aid of the local community and Batemans brewery, we managed to reverse the pub's fortunes and continue to go from strength to strength.
Established in 1856, we are situated on John Street (off Monks Road) Lincoln and are part of the Batemans Brewery estate. We have a large secluded beer garden, real coal fires, traditional pub games and a book exchange for use by customers.
Consistently award-winning, the Dog & Bone is the quintessential village pub in the city.
With a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, the Dog & Bone offers a traditional pub experience in which to relax and forget about the outside world.
We pride ourselves on not having televisions (except on very very rare occasions!), pool tables, jukeboxes or gaming machines, preferring instead the simpler things in life, such as music, games, good beer, good food and good conversation...the perfect mix!
With regular live music, Summer and Winter Beer Festivals, poetry nights, art exhibitions, meet the brewer nights and cheese and wine tasting evenings, there's always a good reason to get involved in this community local.
Batemans
Batemans Brewery is a family company, run by Stuart and Jaclyn Bateman, great-grandchildren of the founder, George Bateman, who founded the brewery in 1874. As well as an excellent reputation for the quality of the Real Ales they produce, their pubs are renowned for the warmth of their welcome. Click on their logo below to visit their website.
